Therapy Law  and Watershed Counselling Service are the trading tools of Barbara Mitchels.  

Barbara is retired from practice as a solicitor and so the use of this website does not create any form of solicitor-client relationship.

The use of the website and of any information contained in it, including any links, resources, free downloads and free guidance, is  not intended to constitute legal advice on any specific matter

The information supplied on this website is based on the current Ethical Framework of the BACP and on English law. The law relating to other areas is included from time to time, where specified. 

We try to keep the website reasonably up to date, but law and practice is constantly changing and moving on, therefore aspects of the information provided here may become out-of-date due to changes in the law, procedure, publications, guidance or the courts' interpretation of the law since the date of publication of this website. We believe the information contained on this site is correct, but we do not accept responsibility for any errors or inaccuracies, loss or damage unless we have given you, personally, specific advice relating to a matter about which you have provided us with full background details.

You may contact us with the contact form, with a specific issue on which consultancy support is required. We will respond to you and obtain the necessarydetails from you to assess whether or not the issue is one with which we can help.  If it is within our expertise,  and you wish to engage us, we will then agree terms. Our fees are calculated according to criteria including the compexity of the matter, the time taken, and the nature of the consultancy support services required. If  you need additional support or specific legal advice, we may be able to assist you to locate advice and help from solicitors or experts who specialise in the area of law you require, and/or who are geographically local to you.  When we do this, you will be notified and receive from us the name of the firm (or firms) responding to your question.

Therapy Law Consultancy Service  Those who wish to use the Therapy Law consultancy service will have a specific agreement with us regarding privacy of their personal information.

Watershed Those using the Watershed Counselling Service will have a specific agreement with us regarding privacy of their personal information.

Anonymous information may be collected from visitors to our website, for example, the number of visitors, which pages they visited and for how long.
